“FOODGROUND”

Edited by Francesca Baboni and Stefano Taddei

23 May-23 June On Saturday 23 May at 6.00 pm the personal exhibition of Giovanna Sottini “Foodoground” will be inaugurated at the Palazzo Civico di Montechiarugolo, curated by Francesca Baboni and Stefano Taddei. The exhibition is realized thanks to the contribution of the Municipality of Montechiarugolo and Terme di Monticelli and presents a series of works by the young artist UNDER 35, already winner of the Marina di Ravenna Award, which binds in an original way to the theme of Expo 2015 “Feeding the Planet , Energy for life “, in which the author investigates the positive and ambiguous aspects of our relationship with nourishment, from childhood to adulthood. The intention is to set up a competent discourse on the topicality and implications of food, easily overcoming the nutritive implications. Associations of words, references to the past, to the contemporary global world and to Mother Nature. A whirlwind of food that becomes, thanks to the technical skills of the artist, a sort of “playground”, where not only the playful dimension appears, but persistent references to the further and personal way of conceiving the presence of food itself. Catalog on display with texts by the curators.
